It has been another fantastic summer for junior tennis at Baywood Racquet Club, with youngsters of all ages and abilities enjoying a busy program of coaching, competition and, most importantly, plenty of fun on the courts.

Under the leadership of Director of Tennis Kevin Brandalik, the 2026 summer program offered opportunities for everyone from children picking up a racquet for the first time through to experienced junior tournament players. Sessions focused on developing technique, movement, tactics and match-play skills while creating an enjoyable and encouraging environment. Baywood’s junior program follows a structured development pathway and maintains small coaching groups to give players plenty of individual attention.

Kevin, who was named USTA North Carolina Pro of the Year for 2025, has brought his extensive junior and high-performance coaching experience to Baywood, helping young players improve while encouraging confidence, sportsmanship and a genuine love of tennis.

One of the highlights of the summer has been seeing so many children spending time outdoors, making new friends and enjoying being part of the Baywood tennis community. Whether learning their first forehand, playing points with friends or preparing for competitive tennis, every player has had the opportunity to make progress.

A huge thank you goes to Coach Kevin and the Baywood coaching team, as well as all the parents who supported the program throughout the summer.

We are already looking forward to seeing our junior players continue their development at Baywood this fall. The future of junior tennis at Baywood is certainly looking bright!
